| ¢§National Camping Association of Japan--the Outline Under the vision of "camping for all, camping by all," NCAJ was founded in 1966 by organizations for youth and those studying and training on outdoor activities throughout the country. Since its establishment, NCAJ has trained a number of camp leaders by focusing on developing "person-to-person" and "person-to-nature" relationships. Additionally, it has set up chapters in each prefecture, developing a nationwide network in order to foster and support unique camping activities most suitable to the local area. As such, NCAJ has been contributing to the development of camping activities through services including promotions of camping, education and training of camping instructors, research, international exchange, and distribution of information. Moreover, in 1990, NCAJ was recognized for its achievements by the Ministry of Education, by which NCAJ had been qualified for the corporate juridical person status. Since then, NCAJ has joined the ICF (International Camping Foundation) and has expanded its sponsoring projects in various areas, leading the camping population not only domestically but also internationally as a prominent camp-related organization in Asia. |
